Coming to ResoSummit? Check out the FAQs, below: we'll be updating them regularly (most recent update: 11/04). New FAQs include: information for late arrivals & late check-in at Scarritt-Bennett; workshop scheduling.

The first set of workshop assignments (all of Friday and the first Saturday session) can be reviewed here. In some cases, you'll find a note asking you to choose between 2 workshops. You can make those choices now, or after you've reviewed your entire schedule.

Last Name G-M

Last Name N-Z

We suggest printing the Thursday & Friday Schedule (below), showing fuller workshop listings, to help you review your workshop assignments.

The ResoSummit 2009 schedule for Thursday and Friday is available here, showing all activities and workshops (but not individual workshop assignments).
{ click here for PDF Schedule for Thursday & Friday }

If you see something that you don't like on your schedule, please drop us an email letting us know what you would prefer to attend during that workshop session. We'll try hard to accommodate all requests for change; please note the playing levels assigned to a particular workshop, and make sure you are within that range, before requesting that workshop. Not all workshops are offered at all levels; we assigned faculty to particular topics and levels based on demand as determined by your surveys.

Note: If you submitted your workshop survey late, your assignments may not be on these schedules, and will be available shortly.

If you haven't already submitted your workshop or meals/name badge survey, please do so ASAP! Descriptions of workshops are here. Email us if you need the survey links, or call us if you prefer to submit your workshop choices by phone. See the FAQs, below, for an update on workshop scheduling.

The graphic, above, is our t-shirrt graphic for 2009. T-shirts will be available at registration and at the merch table ($20, organic cotton). If you want to make sure your size will be available, please send us an email with size and quantity you wish to reserve.

ResoSummit 2009 FAQs (Updated 11/4)

What if I'm arriving late and will miss registration? If you are staying on-site, Guest Services is open until 9pm to check you into your room. After hours, Security will be on staff to give you your room key. Security is located in the Laskey Building (adjacent to foyer); or use the Laskey Lobby phone to contact security at 615.480.5150. For ResoSummit registration, you can complete that on Friday morning, before the opening session; see Betty in the Fondren 1st floor lobby. If you send us an email letting us know you'll be arriving late, we can bring your registration packet to The Station Inn.

When will individual workshop schedules be available?  Assignments for the first four workshop sessions (all of Friday; 9am session on Saturday) are available for review (see links above). We'll post the remainder ASAP.

How are workshops assigned?
We have made final faculty assignments based on the your preferences as indicated in the surveys, and we are assigning participants to particular workshop sessions based on your "top ten" preferences, your level, and your faculty preferences. In a few instances, topics included on our suvey did not receive enough "top ten votes" to make the final cut. In some cases, we can't assign you to all of your top ten choices because of schedule conflicts, or because the workshop is not being scheduled for your level. However, we anticipate that your schedule will very closely reflect your top ten picks, with perhaps 1-2 of your alternate choices in the mix.

Is it too late to order meals?
Yes, our last date for adding meals was Oct. 28. NOTE:  we received insufficient sign-ups for Sunday dinner, so that meal will not be available. There are many restaurants, both fast-food and otherwise, within a several-block radius of S-B - see our Restaurants and Diversions page - and you'll have time to eat off-site if you prefer. Morning coffee & tea, but no meals, are included as part of your registration.

Details on the concerts?
Here is the Station Inn lineup: Thursday - The Lovell Sisters; Friday - Rob Ickes with Michael Alvey & Robinella; Saturday - Missy Raines & the New Hip. On Sunday,
ResoSummit closes with a late afternoon "Dobro All-Stars" performance featuring our faculty; this performance takes place at the Harambee Auditorium at Scarritt-Bennett by (ending by 6pm).

After-hours jamming?
After-hours jamming space is available in Fondren Hall. (Hey, there are at least 5 separate spaces up there, so no need to do one big 30-dobro jam!)   If you have friends in the Nashville area who play other instruments, you are encouraged to invite them for after-hours jams.

When is check-in time? When is ResoSummit registration?
Check-in time for on-site guest rooms is at 3pm on Thursday in the lobby of the Laskey Building, Scarritt-Bennett (go here for a campus map). We will have a registration table in Laskey for check-in by all participants, whether staying on-site or not.

Can I get on-site lodging for Wednesday night?
Wednesday night lodging is not available through ResoSummit. Our block of rooms covers Thursday through Sunday nights, with Sunday night being optional for people whose flights leave on Monday, or otherwise just can't quite tear themselves away on Sunday.  You may be able to reserve Wednesday night lodging directly with Scarritt-Bennett, depending on availability.

When does ResoSummit begin? When does it end?
The first "official" ResoSummit event is the Thursday night Station Inn performance at 8pm on Nov. 5.  We will have an informal "get acquainted" dinner in the Susie Gray Dining Hall at Scarritt-Bennett at 5:30pm, so that you can make new friends and catch up with old ones, and we'll also arrange informal car pools to the Station Inn after dinner. The last official event of ResoSummit is the late afternoon performance that is scheduled to end by 6:00pm.

Do I need a car at ResoSummit?
You should be fine without one. Last year's participants car-pooled to the Station Inn performances, and we'll facilitate those again this year. Information on getting to and from the airport is at right.

What is the policy with respect to audio or video recording?
Audio-only recording of instructional workshops will be permitted for your personal use only, subject to these conditions:  1)  workshop faculty have the right to impose a no-recording policy for any given workshop, in their sole discretion;  2)  all recording must be nondisruptive (see below); and 3) recordings are for your personal use only.  You may not distribute copies of your personal recordings to others, or make them available for streaming, downloading, or share them in any other way.  "Nondisruptive" means:  do not ask the instructor to wait or start something over or play something again, or otherwise do anything that  facilitates your recording but affects the flow of the workshop or annoys your fellow workshop participants.  ResoSummit is intended to be a live experience, so please make sure that any audio recording you do is completely consistent with this policy.

No recording, audio or audiovisual, is allowed of the Station Inn performances, or the performances in the opening session on Friday morning.

Noncompliance with this policy may cause you to lose your audiorecording privileges for the duration of the event, and may affect your eligibility to attend future ResoSummit events. (Note:  ResoSummit may videorecord some activities for archival or other purposes.)

I read all the way to the end, and you didn't answer my question - what's up with that? Oops, our bad. Send us an email with your question and we'll answer it, and we'll post the Q&A here, too, if it's of general interest.
